Sept 2011

Yay September, I can remember September (well a lot of it at least). Samuel had his 1st birthday! He's such a cute kid. Maybe someday I'll figure out how to add pictures to my posts and I can show you just how cute this kid really is.

Mikey has really been enjoying school. He loves to learn and hopefully we can find a way to help him keep that love and not get bored in the classroom. He's reading way above grade level, but that discussion is a post in itself.

Joseph is doing great. I'm enjoying having him home without Mikey for a couple hours each day. He really is a different child without Mikey around. I'm starting to be able to see more of his strengths. He also loves when it's time for Mikey to do his homework, because he can do it too. Most of the assignments are way too easy for Mikey, but perfect for Joseph, so I let Joseph do the assigned work and I modify the assignment to be more challenging for Mikey.

Jason's work had a big picnic just a couple of weeks ago and we all had a blast. Before hand we met up with one of Jason's coworkers for a family photo shoot. We met at Bridal Veil Falls up Provo Canyon. It's so pretty up there and the kids had a blast. Sarah took some great pictures (ok so I've only SEEN two, but if the rest are as good I will be a very happy mommy). At the picnic they had a company wide Volley Ball tournament. It was quite amusing to watch a bunch of computer geeks play volley ball. :) The company had also hired a clown to keep the kids entertained, I know that guy earned his money that day! He was making balloon animals for the kids and my little instigators asked for swords, sheaths and shields. Well they got what they asked for and then ALL of the kids wanted the same, they then of course tried to kill the clown. :)

May-Aug 2011 (see I can learn)

May was spent trying to get our home in order (ok so it's STILL not in order, but we're trying). We attempted to plant a garden only to discover that the garden was full of trash. Literally trash bags of trash buried in the garden along with broken furniture. We spent all day pulling trash out of the garden and filled our big black trash can. I think there's still some in there we never made it back to the garden. :( I'm sad about that cause I'd love to have a garden, not that I've ever really had much of one, but there's not time like the present to start right? OR Maybe next spring would be a better time to start. :)

June graced us with a visit from Jason's family. They were a tremendous help in getting some things fixed up around the new house. We needed a wall in the garage rebuilt we managed to get it done while they were here. I'm glad we had their help, cause there's a lot that goes into building a wall that I wouldn't have even known where to start. Nathon mowed down our back yard in only two days (he had to use a weed eater and a scythe). Della got our side yard gravel pit thingy all leveled out and she pruned the rose bushes and made the flower bed all pretty. I know they helped get a lot more done, but I can't remember what was done when at this point, but they were a HUGE help.

We also got to travel back to CA with the Dyck Clan to visit friends and family. I was finally able to meet my brother Bryan's wife, Melissa and my brother Matthew's little girl, Faith. I had fun just hanging out at Mom and Dad's getting to know Melissa and Hailey, Melissa's daughter, and my boys had a blast playing with cousins they hadn't seen in two years. We also got to travel up to Redding to visit my grandmother. She hadn't met Samuel yet. It was good to see her. Our trip ended with the ever so scenic drive back to Utah with Mom and Dad.

July I think July was pretty uneventful. If anything big happened I'm sorry, I can't remember. :(

August Joseph turned 4 and Mikey started Kindergarten. Jason and I got to go to a BB King concert in SLC without the kids! We decided it was a great way of celebrating 10yrs of friendship. We also started serving together as Cub Scout Den Leaders. It's been fun getting to know all of the boys and trying to learn how to run a den. :) We'll get the hang of it just in time to get released I'm sure.

April 2011

We bought a house!!!! Yay!!! LOVE the new house HATE moving. We have very friendly neighbors and a great ward. (I'm starting to think this month by month thing probably could have been done in one post. oops)

March 2011

Let's see in March we started really looking at houses and working on getting everything in order to buy our first home. Dave and Corrina Hale and their kids came for a visit. Our kids all got along great and it was fun to catch up on the last 6 years or so. Jason and I had our 6th anniversary, and that's about all I can remember.

Feb 2011

Ummm lets see maybe I can remember more than I did about January. Mikey turned 5 and... wow I really need to try to do this more than once a year apparently. :/

Oh yeah Mom and Dad came for a visit.

Jan 2011

I think I'm gonna go month by month to try to catch up on my life and the lives of my family. Unfortunately I can't remember anything specific about Jan of 2011. I'll update if I do. :)

oops!

I guess it's been a while since I've posted anything. I think I'm going to post a bunch of small posts instead of one big long one, nobody likes reading really long posts, at least I don't. Besides this way if I get interrupted it won't take me long to figure out where I was or what I was trying to say.
